As a kid I was always in love with Bratz. I had every doll, watched every movie, had all the albums, I even had the big red truck they brought out, haha. I was in love with it, it was always Bratz instead of Barbies for me, because they were based on real girls not fake ones who were best friends, who had dreams and who stuck together through everything. It was always Bratz for me. I loved Sasha but always thought I was most like Yasmine in both appearance with the tan skin and brown hair, and I always said my mom would be Jade because they both had Black hair. <3
I love this song, though. I loved it then and I love it now, it could be brand new. I heard it for the first time in, what, about 6 or 5 years? It made me cry.
Because it holds so many memories of my childhood. I remember having the CD and my mom loving the song, too, and us both singing it in her car. (god im crying again) it just made everything rush back to me and reminded me of everything and the times when I was closer to my mom and how when I was a kid, even though my life still wasn't any better, I always felt like I would make it out of there and all the bad situations and become something. I felt like I could do anything, be anything, in the world... I felt free. But as I grew older I realised it doesn't work that way and I guess I just wish I could go back to those years and feel free and like I could do anything I wanted too no matter what. It's just makes me emotional, but even now, listening to this song, closing my eyes, I feel it still. I still feel that freedom I felt then that I could do whatever I wanted, I could be free.
It's a nice feeling. And it's just emotional. To anyone else its a Bratz song but it isn't for me it's so much more it hold so many memories, it's my childhood... Okay im rambeling and i've been crying and i'll probably still cry for an hour or all night but I can't help it. We all have something that makes us remember the past, don't we? We all have a song that reminds us of our childhood and our past, this is mine. It means alot to me, this song. It really does.
